Bess Charles, Owner of LadyCakes BakeryÂ
Our Mother’s Home is excited to announce the appointment of our newest board member, Bess Charles! Bess comes to us with a passion for helping young women and a history of community involvement. Bess has called Cape Coral, FL “home” since 2005, but was raised in upstate New York, where she learned all about the ups and downs that life can deliver. Through her struggles, Bess gained strength and decided that she was going to be a success, rather than let those same hardships define her.
Currently, Bess and her husband own LadyCakes Bakery in Cape Coral and they have been blessed with a successful business and the ability to give back to the community and truly teach their own children the value of hard work and philanthropy. In 2020, Bess added published author to her resume, when her children’s book was published- The Adventures of LadyCakes: Kindness is Sweet.Â
Aside from her business, Bess truly enjoys helping non-profit organizations such as PACE Center for Girls, Blue Line Bears, and March of Dimes, to name a few. Bess also sits on the Community Advisory Board of Better Together, and now, Our Mother’s Home, where she will continue to encourage, empower, and enhance those lives around her.
Our Board of Directors is comprised of a dedicated team of community leaders committed to helping us empower young mothers in the foster care and human trafficking systems to break that generational cycle for themselves and their children.
